SAGE To Share Independent Customer ReviewsSAGE FIRST ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL PUBLISHER TO SHARE INDEPENDENT CUSTOMER REVIEWS AND FEEDBACK ONLINELos Angeles, London, New Delhi, Singapore and Washington DC (1 October 2009) —Lecturers inspecting SAGE books this autumn will now be able to share their feedback publicly thanks to a newly launched feature on the SAGE website (www.sagepub.co.uk). SAGE is the first academic and professional publisher to make available independent customer reviews and feedback on its own website in this way. "Peer recommendation is increasingly valued by lecturers when selecting titles for their courses," said Clive Parry, Sales and Marketing Director, SAGE. "This process makes it easy for our customers to get genuine user feedback from others who have read the book, and find out whether they are using it for their courses or not." The reviews process will be monitored by SAGE staff, but all reviews - both good and bad - will be published on the site. "We will not just be sharing reviews that benefit a book. If a review has constructive criticism, it has as much right to be there as a review that is heavily in favour of a title," added Parry. Reviews considered inappropriate will be taken down, and users can also report reviews directly to SAGE using the "report this review" facility on the site. There are already more than 40 reviews on SAGE titles since the feature went live last week. Some examples include: |
