Call for Papers
Each issue of the American Journal of Evaluation (AJE) explores decisions and challenges related to conceptualizing, designing and conducting evaluations. AJE offers original, peer-reviewed, often highly cited articles about the methods, theory, ethics, politics, and practice of evaluation. AJE also provides essay-length reviews of books on a single topic or issue relevant to the theory and practice of evaluation and the role of evaluation in society.
AJE features broad, multidisciplinary perspectives on issues in evaluation relevant to education, public administration, behavioral sciences, human services, health sciences, sociology, criminology and other disciplines and professional practice fields.
The American Journal of Evaluation also features rotating special sections, such as
Ethics -- Explorations of ethical challenges faced by practitioners in their work with clients and stakeholders as well as ethical issues affecting the design, delivery, and evaluation of social interventions.
Exemplars -- Interviews with evaluators whose work illustrates the application of different models, theories, and principles.
Dialog -- Scholars offer opposing points of view to stimulate readers' thoughts on the topic in question.
Forum -- Provocative essays on philosophical, ethical, and practical matters in the profession of evaluation
Methods Notes -- Useful reports of new or improved evaluation methods, techniques, tools, products, and/or services.
Teaching Evaluation -- Articles that discuss evaluation teaching and training in diverse environments, including traditional academic settings, as well as K-12, corporate, government, non-profit, and community settings.
The Historical Record -- Illuminating analysis of important turning points within the profession, commentaries on historically significant evaluation works, and interviews with evaluation luminaries on historically noteworthy events and people.
