ABOUT MANAGEMENT LEARNING:

First published in April 1970 and now in its fifth decade of publication, Management Learning continues to provide a unique forum for critical inquiry, innovative ideas and dialogue in the fields of knowledge, knowing and learning in management and organizations.

Articles in Management Learning advance theory and practice through two defining characteristics: they engage in critique, and they are thought-provoking. These characteristics encompass processual, provisional, and potentially contested views of knowledge and learning, and emphasize the need to open-up existing ways of thinking to scrutiny.

Ten good reasons to publish in Management Learning:

  1. Management Learning is the foremost peer-reviewed international journal for publishing original research on learning and knowing in management and organizations.
  2. Management Learning is graded '3' by the UK Association of Business Schools (ABS), i.e. its papers are not only "heavily refereed" and "highly regarded", but also the journal is "very selective" with regard to which articles it publishes.
  3. Management Learning has consistently published work that is ahead of its time, publishing papers that are innovative, creative and thought-provoking, and engage in critique.
  4. Management Learning publishes a selection of the best papers from the international Organizational Learning, Knowledge and Capabilities (OLKC) conference.
  5. Management Learning has an International Editorial Board of experts as well as an extended community of committed referees who provide constructive feedback to authors. Reviewing is double blind and initial decisions on manuscripts sent out to review are made within three months of submission.
  6. Management Learning has high online usage of full-text .pdf versions of articles from the Sage journals online platform. Selected authors get the chance to discuss their work via podcasts and vodcasts.
  7. Management Learning is fully indexed and ranked in the Management category of Thomson Reuters' (formerly ISI) Journal Citation Reports (JCR) ® with a two-year impact factor of 1.13 and a five-year impact factor of 2.06 (based on 2009 JCRs).
  8. Longevity of content: Management Learning is the leading management learning journal which pioneered the field in the 1970s and has a distinguished history spanning 40 years of ground-breaking contributions.
  9. Management Learning articles, once accepted, appear very quickly through Sage Journals Online (SJO), an award-winning electronic delivery platform hosted by HighWire Press. Your article will benefit from the very latest in online search and discoverability technology.
  10. Unprecedented international reach - Sage is the world's leading independent academic publisher. Sage proudly retains a culture that puts quality and individual relationships first. Your article will have global reach through Sage's principal offices in Los Angeles, London, New Delhi and Singapore.
