Chapter 16: Cross curricular issues (including citizenship, creativity, diversity)
- Q15 Know and understand the relevant statutory and non-statutory curricula, frameworks, including those provided through the National Strategies, for their subjects/curriculum areas, and other relevant initiatives applicable to the age and ability range for which they are trained.
'Background' gives the background to citizenship and its implementation
'Schools' shows how schools can be proactive in implementing citizenship whilst 'Implementing' gives more detail on this and marries it with a school based task for trainees.
'Inspect' covers some of the principles of inspecting citizenship - for the latter part of the session you will need the Ofsted DVD on 'inspecting citizenship in schools'.
'Evaluate' can be used for this session, or just as a prompt for evaluating the citizenship in a particular lesson
