Sage Publications - Book Companion Websites
Welcome to the Companion Website. The online portal to accompany the books published by Sage Publications. Through this site you can navigate to additional learning resources and accompanying material. You can also find your way to the Sage Publications Website for additional resources for lecturers, book authors/editors, societies and associations, librarians, subscription agents and booksellers.
You can also link directly to the Sage Online Journals platform and take advantage of the many facilities available to aid in you research.
There are two ways of accessing the website you require. You can simply locate the site by author name or by book title by clicking the links at the top of the page.

Putting Together a Companion Website
There are two types of Companion Websites, A-List and Standard. The Standard "Blue" template is intended to cover the majority of the Companion Website requirements. The A-List template is intended for higher profile books and the design is generally based on the cover design.
Take some time to look at the previous examples available. The A-List websites are marked by the icon. Pay particular attention to the layout of the menus on the top left.
You should have an idea of what information you need on the site. For example, are there any resources for lecturers and if so, what are they? Will their be any resources for students and if so, what are they?
Use the word template to outline your site. Fill in the book details. Author name(s), Book Title are fairly obvious. The Proposed URL is the URL printed in the book, the final companion site URL (http://www.sagepub.co.uk/wearing for example). The Sage.co.uk URL is the book information page on the Sage UK website (http://www.sagepub.co.uk/book.aspx?pid=106889 for example). Finally, make a note if the site will require password protection.
Think about the structure of the site (how you want the information to be displayed/what pages you will require) and draw up a menu, similar to the ones used on the top left of the webpage.
Once you have you layout, work through your menu, using the menu items as titles, and put together all of the text you will require on the site (including the Home page, Lecturer Resources and Student Resources pages).
