I acquired this text with the intention of suggesting it to a group of undergraduate students undertaking Supervision training with health and counselling professionals working within a context of education. The intention was that it would offer the students information about coaching with members of this group that often happens as part of the supervision process.
The text offers a great deal of information about the management and leadership of educational professionals and so it did not quite satisfy the brief I had for it. However as I am also involved with the education of other teachers it fitted neatly into a requirement we have for a text to inform our PGCE level teachers about leadership and management within their context.
The authors are clearly subject specialists and offer a compelling and meaty text that will meet the needs of the educator at undergraduate and I think postgraduate (level 7, masters).

As a third edition, the coaching and mentoring section was still in need of further refining. There is much more separation between coaching and mentoring and this text does not fully differentiate between the two.
