Easy to understand and appropriate for student extended reading
A very good read for the our FD and BA students studying Pedagogy. The book is easy to read with case studies and realistic scenarios throughout.
The book covers a wide range of Early Childhood issues with a close link to the EY Standards. A very useful book for Early Childhood Students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
A useful text in general. In particular, the chapter on Sustained Shared Thinking is clearly written with thought-provoking case studies. This will provide a useful introduction to Early Years Practice for our students.
Although there are some interesting sections e.g. discussion around the environment, SST and differing approaches to learning on the whole this book is more suited to UG students or those studying the FdA. It might be supportive for one of our 3-7 PGCE students who needs to know more about the youngest children. The reflective tasks are useful and may be adapted and up-dated for our PGCE students.

accessible but packed with information which saves students trawling through lots of texts. reflective tasks and case studies are great as food for thought.
