What a wonderful book! Extremely accessible and a delight to read. The authors cover a range of relevant issues which are of interest to students, teachers and practitioners within the early years sector. Thought provoking case studies and exercises promote discussion throughout. Easy to dip in and out of but also difficult to put down once you get started!

I feel this is a good basic text for students beginning their studies as it covers a range of topics and gives students lots of prompts to stimulate reflective thinking. Criticisms would be that it is quite superficial and would probably only be useful in Foundation modules when a general understanding of the issues is required. Not really suitable as a specialist text. I particularly like the way the book starts with an introduction to study and to reflective practice
