BERA/SAGE Practitioner Research Awards 2012

SAGE and BERA are delighted to announce the opening of submissions for the 2012 BERA/SAGE Practitioner Research Awards.

The awards support and encourage excellence in the application of research in practice. They are open to anyone who has used research to develop practice in the UK within the past five years, and working in any sector of education, from nursery to higher education.

The aims of the award are:

  • To support and encourage excellence in the application of research in practice
  • To disseminate the results of practitioner research and practice
  • To help practitioners to improve the quality of their work by example.

There are two separate awards: an award for research-based practice in under 18 settings, and an award for research-based practice in over 18 settings

Submissions can be in a variety of forms, such as:

  • An action research project
  • Examples of curriculum or assessment materials
  • Documents highlighting the use of particular pedagogies
  • A programme of staff development
  • Or any other accounts of research-based practice.
