Tony Histed, International Sales Director - SAGE, Paul Evans, Managing Director - SAGE Asia Pacific, Clare Sun, Business Development Manager - China, SAGE and Yan Wang, President of East China Normal University Press.

Los Angeles, CA (16th April, 2012) – East China Normal University Press (ECNUP), one of

China’s leading teacher training universities, will sign an agreement to translate all 8 books in the “Best of Corwin” series, published by Corwin, the K-12 professional division of international academic publisher SAGE, at the London Book Fair. The agreement represents the first time ECNUP will translate an entire book series from a foreign publisher.

“This is the start of what we hope to be a very long and significant relationship with ECNUP, bringing Corwin and SAGE Education content to a wider audience in China,” said Stephen Barr, President of SAGE International.

The agreement is part of ECNUP’s plans to not only publish more translations, but also to bring about renewed interest in western education concepts among Chinese educators. ECNUP will work with partner education organizations to put the concepts from the Best of Corwin series into practice in China and generate local cases as examples.

The Best of Corwin series contains 8 thematic volumes that collect leading authors and writings from Corwin’s prestigious K-12 education list. Each volume, edited by a respected author in the field, represents the most important research and best practices in American education.

The Best of Corwin series includes the following titles:

  • The Best of Corwin: Educational Neuroscience edited by David A. Sousa
  • The Best of Corwin: Classroom Management edited by Jane Bluestein
  • The Best of Corwin: Differentiated Instruction edited by Gayle H Gregory
  • The Best of Corwin: Equity edited by Randall B. Lindsey
  • The Best of Corwin: Inclusive Practices edited by Toby J. Karten
  • The Best of Corwin: Response to Intervention edited by Cara F. Shores
  • The Best of Corwin: Educational Technology for School Leaders edited by Lynne Schrum
  • The Best of Corwin: Differentiated Instruction in Literacy, Math, and Science edited by Leslie Laud

The simplified Chinese translation will be released by 2014 in mainland China, excluding Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.
